For routine maintenance and bearing replacement, bearings are disassembled. If you need to inspect the bearing’s condition or continue using it after disassembly, it must be done with the same level of care as installation. Avoid damaging the bearing components, especially while disassembling interference fit bearings, which can be challenging to do.
It is also very important to design and make disassembly tools as needed. When dismantling, study the dismantling method, order and investigate the conditions of bearing fit according to the drawing, in order to obtain a foolproof dismantling operation.
Disassembly interference in the outer ring While disassembling, install several outer ring extrusion screws with screws around the shell’s circumference in advance, and tighten each screw uniformly on one side. These screw holes are typically sealed with blind plugs, tapered roller bearings, and other separation-type bearings. In some cases, cutouts are also placed on the blocking shoulder of the shell, a gasket is used, and the screws are removed using a press or gently knocking.
The easiest way to disassemble the inner ring is to press it out with your press. Care must be taken at this stage to allow the inner ring to withstand the pulling strain. Additionally, the pulling clamps displayed are typically used. Whatever the type of clamp, it needs to be firmly anchored to the inner ring’s side. In order to employ the pulling fixture, it is required to take into account the shaft shoulder’s size or to research how the groove at the shoulder has been processed.
The oil pressure method is used to remove the inner ring of large bearings. The oil pressure is applied through the oil hole set in the bearing to make it easy to pull out. For bearings with large widths, the oil pressure method is used in conjunction with the pulling fixture to perform the disassembly operation.
Examples: The inner ring of Cylindrical roller bearings can be removed using the induction heating technique. The inner ring is partially heated over a brief period of time, expanding and being drawn out. When many of these bearings’ inner rings need to be placed, the induction heating technique is also used.
